Plants Vs. Zombies

The ever-recurring topic of Zombies um... recurs. So, I recently installed Plants Vs. Zombies (PVC) on my iphone and it was totally worth the 2.99 or 1.99 or whatever I paid for it. The game is thus: hordes of zombies threaten your house, and all that stands between them and you is your trusty garden. So you plant your plants and the plants, in various ways, fend off the approaching horde. It is pretty damned fun.

In other iphone related news: I'm giving the Tweetdeck app a try, to see if I like more, less or differently to Twitterrific.

In TV news: I just finished watching Season 2 of "Leverage." I like that show. It's silly but clever.

In Other TV news: It looks like Season 5 of "Dr. Who" is starting up. I've heard good rumblings about it from the twitbook sphere.

In Book news: I'm about 2/3 of the way through Sum: 40 Tales of the Afterlives. It's a quick read, they're all short stories, usually about 2 pages long. Some of the themes are repeated, some have obvious punch lines, but I'd say the majority of them are quite well written.

In just other random news: my search for a kitchen island is ongoing, but so far has been for naught. I also swung by my local cooking supply company to get some cupcake tins only to discover the doors locked and the walls and floors bare. Cooks Boulevard joins the list of local stores that have closed down in Noe valley over the past year. This makes me sad. I really liked that place, and they had some nice things that you are unlikely to find in other cooking stores. My back up store (Sur la Table), is kind of a pain to get to, but I might swing by there on Saturday or Sunday.

It is a pain to get to because it is in Palo Alto, BUT they have an incredibly large selection of stuff. It's also right next to my doctor's office, so whenever I go to the clinic I usually do some cooking supply shopping. Tomorrow, however, I will be driving down that way to attend Yuri's Night at NASA. The last time I went to Yuri's Night there was music and fire breathing robots. I'm hoping for more.

And, really, can you really have enough fire breathing robots?

Well, yes, yes you can... if they're out to grill you.
